Violet

Viloet, David's mom, is at Gaston Memorial Hospital for tests. She has not been feeling well since the beginning of the year and had become anemic. Pray that the tests and doctors will discover the source and be able to provide remedy. Violet is almost 90 years old. Pray for David, too, as he assist his mom through this trial. UPDATE: (2/19) Some of the tests that were to be run have been postponed for a couple of weeks after Violet has had time to regain strength. She is at home and will be having home health nurses begin some rehab with her to help her regain strength. Pray that she will respond well to the rehab.02-19-2010

Dot fell twice on Tuesday night and spent the night in the emergency room. Praise the Lord nothing appears to have been broken, just bumps and bruises. Pray for her comfort as she deals with the pain and soreness.02-18-2010

Jean Jackson

Jean Jackson, Dot's sister, will have outpatient surgery on her knee tomorrow morning (12/30) Jean had surgery on both knees on Dec. 7th and has been doing really well. However, one of the incisions is not healing properly so the doctor will go in to clean it out and try to get rid of any infection so that it will drain properly and heal. 12-29-2009

Scott, Mark's brother, was in a mining accident last week. He is a member of the fire brigade at the mine where he works in WV, and it is his duty to deal with fires that occasionally occur. One of the belts caught fire, and he inhaled a large amount of smoke and steam. He already suffers from a severe case of Black Lung, and this has made matters worse. As a side note, he is also studying to become a minister. Pray that he will make a swift recovery from this, and that the Lord would heal his damaged lungs. 11-25-2009

Jim's nephew was in a serious work accident Thursday morning. A tank with around 650 lbs of water pressure ruptured through safety sight glass and knocked him to the floor. He suffered multiple fractured bones in his face and may have fractured his eye socket. 11-10-2009

Katie, Lynn's friend, was misdiagnosed as having cervical cancer. She saw another doctor and it was confirmed that there is no cancer, just abnormal cells. She was diagnosed with endometriosis. Pleasel pray for her as she deals with the endometriosis, which has been very painful.10-19-2009

Kevin Moore

Our friend, Kevin Moore is a Marine stationed in Afghanistan and was injured by a road-side bomb on October 3. Kevin was wearing his protective gear at the time. His truck was completely destroyed and Kevin received a head concussion. His sargeant phoned his parents this morning (10/6) to inform them of Kevin's injury. Please pray for Kevin and his groups safety. This particular group was not supposed to be doing "dangerous" duties....just building a village. They were called out at a moment's notice. It was not reported to his family how the others were injured. Kevin's family is Steve and Carolyn Moore of Gastonia. 10-07-2009

Ruby Mecca

Ruby, Melissa's grandmother, fell and broke her back last weekend. She is 96, and though they can't do surgery, on Sunday (10/4) they plan to do a procedure to help strengthen her back. Ruby fears that she will not survive the procedure, so Melissa is returning to Arkansas to see her grandmother again. Pray for Ruby, that the procedure will be successful and that she will be pain free. Pray for Melissa as she flies back today (10/3) to see her grandmother.10-03-2009

Pray for their safe arrival, the extension of their visa and for the success of the Awa NT in bringing many to Christ. UPDATE: 2/24 - Praise God that their visas have been extended through May. Pray for their trip to the Awa village on Friday (2/26).
